This week we are focusing on our wonderful dads!! We have a busy week, because we are leaving for Michigan Friday morning. So I am cramming all my activities into 4 days. Also we are losing about an hour and a half each day for swimming lessons..whew! Oh well, we are getting there. As the children complete a project, I have them wrap it in newspaper and place it in a gift bag. At the end of the week, they will have a whole bag of gifts for their daddy.

Activity 1: Writing for Dadddy

My kids are little, so I created a template with sentences and they had to complete each sentence. The sentences were things like:
I love my dad because ----.
My dad's favorite thing to do is ---.
My favorite thing to do with dad is ---.
My dad loves to eat ---.

They just filled in the blanks.

Activity 2: A Pad for Dad

This one is super cute. You need: brown lunch sack, 4 sheets of paper cut into 5x5 squares (for 8 small pieces), a strong rubber band, and a stick!

Fold the bag in half, and place the white sheets inside. Hole punch 2 holes through all of the stack on the left side. From the back push the rubber band through on of the holes and slide the stick into it. Then repeat with the other hole. This will keep everything in place. Then the children can decorate the covers. I cut out the letters DAD on my cricut, but you could have them do it however they wanted.

Activity 3: Bird Cookies

This is a simple activity. You just take a bagel, run a string through it, coat it with peanut butter, and then roll it in birdseed.

Snack Activity: Baggy Bugs

Take 2 full graham crackers and place them in a Ziploc. Use the back of a spoon to crush them into a powder (dirt). Add raisins and gummy worms. Then dig for bugs! Yum!
